underdog2264 Store TRIUMPH 1971 TR-6 Perfect restoration car or good parts donor. This car has ALL the goodies you could want in a Triumph! Original color is British Racing Green Original Wire wheels Original Hard Top Original Overdrive The Commission # is CC64196LO look it up and see for your self! In all honesty it would be an extensive restoration job, but well worth it in the end. I had bought it with the hopes of bringing it back to a daily driver, but have had to down sized my work and storage space so it has to find a new home, along with another TR6 and lots of extra parts. So if this one doesn't tickle your fancy have a look at the others. PLEASE look at the pictures and ask any questions you need, I will be happy to answer or set up a time for you or your agent to inspect the car. I will list the good bad and ugly as best I can, and with all honesty. I will start at the ground and go from there. 5 wire wheels octagon knock offs, with Michelin red line tires, wheels are fair with no rot or heavy rust and all but the spare have held air for 2 years now. The frame is solid with no rot or sag and no damage that I can detect. Suspension is all in working order but should be re-bushed for proper handling and alignment. The engine is complete and was running strong when stored, no knocks or smoke, the person I bought it from was the 2nd owner and claims the 47000 miles to be correct, (I don't know that to be true but pass it along for you to judge) Transmission is an original overdrive in working condition when put into storage. ( I would really like to swap it into the TR I am keeping but it should stay with it's host car as all the #s match) The rear end had been removed due to a noisy bearing and was rebuilt by British sports car works in Port St Lucie Fl, ($800.00)but never reinstalled. It will go with the car. Clutch and brakes are complete but I don't know the operating condition, If you know Triumphs you know the should be rebuilt at any rate. Steering is tight with little to no play. The body is rough in many places, Rockers, floors, fenders inner battery tray and rear top deck (Fuel Deck) with rust and rot (see the photos) The hood and trunk lids are great as is the trunk floor and interior rear floor(jump seat) All in all there are some usable and or repairable panels but you would have to be the judge on those. All the lenses were removed prior to storage and go with the car accept the head lights. But the trim rings are there. The doors, hood and trunk all work smoothly with no bind or out of whack fitting that would indicate a bad frame or total body tub failure. The windows both work and all the glass is in good shape with no chips, cracks or frosting. (that includes the hard top) The hard top is another thing I would like to keep but in Florida it's not needed so with the car it goes, It is in good condition with some surface rust and an old repair, but very serviceable. The liner inside is missing. There is NO convertible top frame with the car. I may have one floating around and it will go with the car if I locate it. Interior and seats are present, the seats have been covered with cloth for some reason unknown to me, but are in fair shape and complete. Dash is weathered but refinish able I think, all dash gages are present and were working at storage time accept for a temper mental fuel Gage. But again if you know Lucas electric you know why Britain never had a space program! I have a clear Virgina title on hand for the car I think that about covers it, I am sure I have missed something, so please ask any and all questions you need. I will be happy to send detailed pictures (with in reason, one person asked me to remove the head of a tractor and photograph the the valves, ummm no ) I would love to see this car get back on the road, or at least some part of it, but I just don't have the room or time to do it This is one of four Triumphs I own now and 1 of 2 for auction now.
