FOR SALE BY ORIGINAL OWNER--1981 Porsche TURBO (931), stored in private collection since new, garaged (ordered directly from Germany in 1981) and very lightly driven! "Nothing drives like a Porsche!"
The Porsche 924 was producted by Porsche AG of Germany from 1976 to 1988 and replaced the 914 as the company's entry-level model. The 924 TURBO was introduced in 1978 with a model year beginning in 1979. In 1981, a total of 3,312 Porsche 924 Turbo's were manufactured; only 1529 were brought into the USA and Japan with the balance going to the rest of the world. Internally, Porsche called the 924 Turbo a "931" for a left hand drive and "932" for a right hand drive. The turbo charged engine allowed the 924's performance to come surprisingly close to that of the 911SC. In 1981, Porsche released a revised 924 Turbo series 2 (although, according to many websites, badging still read 924 Turbo), using a smaller turbo charger running at increased boost with slightly higher compress of 8:1, improved fuel injection system with DITC ignition triggered by the flywheel.
