I'M HAVING TO RE-LIST THIS DUE TO DEADBEAT BIDDERS,IF YOU AREN'T SURE YOU WANT THIS CAR OR IF YOU CAN'T PAY,PLEASE DON'T BID. THIS IS ON HERE FOR ME TO SELL,NOT FOR ENTERTAINMENT. THIS AUCTION IS FOR A 1978 PONTIAC TRANS AM,THIS CAR IS 100% DEPENDABLE AND COULD BE DRIVEN ANYWHERE,IT IS MECHANICALLY SOUND AND WOULD NEED ONLY MINOR MECHANICAL REPAIRS,THE ENGINE DOESN'T CONSUME OIL AND THE TRANSMISSION SHIFTS WELL THE REAR DIFFERENTIAL HASN'T HAD ANY KIDS OF MODS OR REPAIRS AND DOESN'T NEED ANY IT MAKES NO NOISE.THIS CAR HAS POWER WINDOWS,POWER DOOR LOCKS,REMOTE TRUNK RELEASE,DELAY WIPERS,HEATED BACK GLASS,THE CIGARETTE LIGHTER WORKS.THIS CAR NEEDS THE A/C COMPRESSOR AND BRACKETS PUT ON IT AND THE CONDENSER WOULD NEED TO BE REINSTALLED ALSO,THE WIRE FOR THE FACTORY OIL PRESSURE GUAGE IS CUT AND THE OIL GUAGE DOESN'T WORK BECAUSE OF THAT,THE SPEEDO NEEDS A NEW CABLE INSTALLED AND I HAVE THAT,DUE TO THIS THE MILEAGE ON THE ODOMETER ISN'T ACCURATE.IT WAS PAINTED ABOUT 5 YEARS AGO AND IS STARTING TO SHOW SOME SIGNS OF USE,BEFORE THE RISE IN THE PRICE OF GAS I DROVE THIS CAR MOST DAILY WHEN THE WEATHER WAS NICE.THE HEATER CORE IS UNHOOKED TO HELP KEEP INTERIOR TEMP DOWN.THIS HAS HAD QUARTER PANEL PATCH PANELS INSTALLED AND IT HAS BEEN STARTING TO DEVELOP SOME FLOOR PAN RUST,NO HOLES BUT IS SHOWING IT'S AGE IN A COUPLE SPOTS,THE BODY IS VERY STRAIGHT AND LOOKS NICE,NO MATTER WHERE I DRIVE THIS CAR PEOPLE ALLWAYS STOP AND LOOK.THESE CARS ARE GETTING TO BE FEW AND FAR BETWEEN AND THIS IS ONE THAT IF SOMEONE SPENT A LITTLLE TIME WITH COULD BE A VERY NICE EXAMPLE OF WHAT ONCE WAS.I MIGHT CONSIDER A MOTORCYCLE FOR PARTIAL TRADE.THIS HAS A CLEAR KANSAS TITLE,IT DOES READ THAT IT IS REBUILT SALVAGE DUE TO BEING IN A WRECKED OR DAMAGED CONDITION WHEN IN FACT IT WAS A THEFT RECOVERY WHEN I PURCHASED THE CAR,IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE ASK BEFORE,SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY PLEASE,THANKS FOR YOUR INTEREST AND GOOD LUCK!
i left out a few details in the description,this has a 400 cubic inch pontiac v-8,it has a 350 turbo hydromatic automatic trans,it has headers,dual exhaust and new tailpipes with the factory tips.it has all the factory wheels,with a fifth matching wheel for a spare,all the tires were new about 2 years ago and are still like new.it has 205-55r15 on the front and it has 245-60r15 on the rear.i also have a budge car cover for this.don't know if i said so anywhere else but i've had this car for 7 years and am only selling it because i am running out of space to keep it inside.anything else you would like to know just ask.there is no shipping available for this,but i am sure as long as you could get gas you could drive this anywhere.
I do also have the right hand armrest that matches the interior,the screw holes in the door are worn and the screws don't stay tight,i also have a dealer add-on radio that is am-fm-cass. as far as i remember. and there are a few misc. spare pieces that will also go with the car.if you have any questions,feel free to ask,thanks again for looking. i have noticed some slight moisture and some gas fumes under the back of the car,like the tank might be leaking or something along that line,i do have an extra tank that can go with this car if buyer wants,this car doesn't have door dings and all the body damage it has is shown in the pictures.

ok,i have a small update on this car,the drivers side seat doesn't want to move forward or backwards,this is probably due to the fact that nobody else besidesme has drove this car in the last 7 years,don't know if the traack has a problem or if it is just stuck,thanks.

to up date on the earlier mention of gas fumes and moisture around the tank area,i am replacing the tank(just because i have it out and have another) the leakage is a small piece of rubber hose on the top side of the tank and some sloshing leakage from the rubber gasket around the gas sending unit.this will be repaired as of tomorrow.also there is some rust clear through the floor pans along the edges.there is no rust of any kind in the frame rails front or rear,the rockers appear to be rust free as is the trunk and the spring mounts.when i removed the tank i did find an original build sheet about 3/4 intact.this car was originally sold at ALAN MAGNON PONTIAC INC. in COSTA MESA,CA.if there is anything else i can tell you feel free to ask,if i know the answer i will tell you,if i don't i will try to find out for you,if you look at this car and compare to the others listed on ebay,this is a very good deal for someone wanting one of these cars and not having 10 or 15k to spend,thanks for looking and bidding.
