Vehicle Description
1967 Cougar, 289 auto, power steering, manual brakes. Car runs drives fine, should be able to pass inspection if you wish to drive it daily. This car spent most of its life in Arizona before being brought to the east coast and the car is clean underneath with no rust issues in any of the typical cougar places.
Car was painted last fall and looks stunning. There is a small flaw by one of the wipers where the wiper hyper extended and put a small scratch in the paint. The vinyl top was removed, the top was sanded down and prepped with POR-15. It currently does not have the vinyl top on, there will be no hidden surprises, you can see the top before the vinyl goes back on.
Mechanically the car is sound, the only issue I am aware of is a small leak in the power steering unit. Car has Flow Master mufflers and has that deep rumble we all know and love.
The headlights do not open on their own, I haven’t had time to investigate, all other lights are working, including the sequential turn signals. The radio in the car is the original Mercury AM /8 track tape. Radio is not currently wired up, another radio comes with the car as well.
The fuel / temp gauge is inop due to the temp needle broke off in fell down in the fuel gauge area, keeping it from registering past 1/2 full. A replacement gauge come with car as well.
Car comes with new foam for front seats, new upholstery for front and rear seats. New Vinyl (white) top, weather stripping, etc. The car needs the interior finished, headliner and upholstery. the carpet is good as well the floor pans.
New windshield, new front and rear windshield gaskets.
Other numerous parts will come with the car, some brand new, some used replacement parts.
Car is for sale locally at a reasonable price and I reserve the right to cancel this auction should the car sell.
The reserve is $4,495.00. The reserve is less than half of what is invested in this car, so don’t waste my time with buyout questions, bid to win.
Any questions, call Rick at 1-540-972-2188. This is a very nice cougar that has had most of the work completed on it. The only thing left is to finish the interior and this car will be the daily driver you want, that you won’t be afraid to drive!
A Marti report comes with the car.
I am the third owner of this car, last owner bought it for his 16 year old son and did a lot of maintenance work on the car, new shocks, tranny flush, etc. There are receipts for all work done on the car, including the $4,000.00 I paid to have the car professionally done at a shop that specializes in restoration of older cars.
Below is a list of items that have been brought and for repairs and work that has been done to the car. This does not include the original $5,250 I paid for the car. As you can see, the reserve is less than half of what has been invested in this car …it’s a fair price.
