This is 1988 Mazda RX-7 a Great little rice burner in its day. Sadly its day is done for me. This car is in great condition for its year. There are some scratches in the paint. It has been wrecked before But the repair work was done well and is not noticeable with the hood closed. What you do notice is a brace that is sort of kinked on the driver side under the bumper. Like I said not visible with the hood closed. The body looks great on this car. The only rust in it is on the driver’s side in front of the rear wheel. (See picture) looks like an easy fix. The interior is not so great. There are some cracks in the leather seats. The carpet is dirty, and the radio is not installed and the steering wheel has some cuts in it. The sunroof doesn’t work, but I think it is just stuck because you can hear the motor whine.
I bought this car 4 years ago as a toy and it was working out really well. When I bought it didn’t run, so I changed the fuel pump, during that process I saw that there was black goo in the bottom of the gas tank, so I cleaned it out and changed the filter also. So I got the engine running, I ran it for a couple of days getting the bugs worked out ( it had been sitting a while ) I finally took it out for a real test drive, and I think it ran pretty good if I do say so myself. Then I downshifted at about 60 mph and the clutch flew apart. The car has been sitting ever since. The tires are great and the engine seems like it pulled really well.
These cars are a blast to drive, I wish I had time to work on it and get it going again. Now I have a family and have no time to play with things like that right now, and I know if I let it sit another 3 years it will be a rust bucket. My loss is your gain. Happy bidding.
