I have owned this car cince 1981. It was last inspected and licensed for the road in 1990. Since then it has been garage stored and tarped for most of the time For the last 15 years it has been on my list of things to do to restore and drive again. I have finally come to the reality that it isn't going to happen anytime soon as long as I own it. This a restoration project. The have had several auto mechanics look at it over the last year. All have said the frame is still in decent shape and that it's a good project car. There is rust damage in all the typical places in an old Mustang- wheel wells, floor, and trunk. When I bought it there was a 289 V-8 in it, although it's unclear whether that was the original. The reason I pulled it off the road is it was beginning to use quite a bit of oil. A couple years ago my oldest son pulled the engine and tore the engine down to re-build it, but then his interest faded. That is the way it has been since then. All engine parts are there; I think it's worth rebuilding but I can't guarantee that. Also the transmission is pulled- It functioned fine the last time I drove it way back in the 90's. The interior is what I would call a "partial pony interior." By that I mean someone before my time with it replaced the original seats with pony interior seats, but other things like the console and dash where one would expect to see pony interior are standard. Wheels are not original as you should see in the photos. My ideal buyer would be someone who wants to see it restored and on the road again. Having said that however, it would also be a good parts car for other Mustangs being restored or otherwise in need of body parts. Highest bidder wins, no reserve price. Have fun bidding on this one! Talk to the winner in a week or so!
