San Jose manufactured car with 2 Barrel Carb 289 V8 Engine.
First sold in Los Angeles , the car has been in California all its life. Original floorpans, quarter panels, rocker panels etc. It retains it's Ford factory installed C code 289 V8 engine; Automatic transmission ; 9 rear end with 2:80 gears. The car is as manufactured correct color Candy Apple Red with Red interior.
The Car has these Upgrades Options:

- Original 1960's vintage 14 wire wheel cover w/spinner
- 4 wheel disk brakes
- Electric Power Windows
- Rack Pinion Steering Flaming River Kit

Mustang aficionado's will know the car was originally sold with four wheel drum brakes. Front wheel disk brakes ( with rear wheel drum brakes) were a factory option. The all wheel (front rear) disk brakes is a modern kit upgrade. Also, the original 1966 steering incorporated tie-rods, ball joints and a steering box, the R P is a modern kit upgrade.
And of course you will be driving one of the few early Mustangs outfitted with all electric windows (after-market kit). I get great looks of surprise form other classic car enthusiast when I am cruising the 101 with the top down on a warm summer day, and suddenly all four windows retract !
Following recent work has been done on the car:
-New KYB Shocks all around
-New disk brake pads rotors
-New rear leaf springs, new dual exhaust
-Radiator removed flushed / cooling system service
-Front end work includes new A arms, coil springs
The engine fires up at the first whiz of the starter. The car has a nice throaty exhaust note through the dual exhaust. The 4 wheel disk brake pedal is firm and responsive. The engine has been compression tested and the numbers show the rings and valves are to factory specs, the results are between 145 - 150 PSI in all cylinders. The engine main seals, oil transmission pan gaskets are all fresh ... there are no oil leaks under the car.
The photo's are all original, unretouched. They show the true gloss of the paint. Many hours went into preparing the body. The car was stripped, the slightest dings imperfections were professionally repaired and smoothed. The car was primed, block color sanded, and finished with three undercoats and two top clearcoats of paint.
The interior is in beautiful shape. The headliner, carpet, doorpanels, seatcovers etc. show the slightest bit of use. The dash area / instrument bezels / glovebox / are clean . The dash pad itself was original black, was repainted red and does show cosmetic flaws ( a few spots flaking).The electric windows all work. The car has a brand new Robbins convertible top (tan color - 36 oz. pinpoint grain vinyl) with new Full-Vue rear window .
The engine compartment is neat and tidy. All the wires and hoses are fresh and correctly routed. This is a solid matching numbers car.
The car has vintage 14 bias ply white wall tires with no sidewall cracks and some tread left. Buyers / Winning Bidders choice of 4 new Uniroyal Tiger Paw 225R/75 -14 raised white letter tires or a different brand of more traditional 205R-14 white walls will be installed prior to sale.
We have been driving the car regularly including up mountains & at freeway speeds and have these notes: The headlights, hi and lo beams, parking lights, turn-signals & indicators, heater & fan, wipers, interior lights, fuel gauge all work as they should. The temperature and oil pressure gauge read normal. The air conditioning works; not as cold as we would like . The amp meter is not moving; we have tested the system and it is charging .
