LS3 V8 Engine
The aluminum-block power plant — standard in coupe and convertible — produces an SAE-certified 430 horsepower @ 5900 rpm and 424 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4600 rpm. Power output is even higher with the available dual-mode exhaust system with 436 hp @ 5900 rpm and 428 lb.-ft. of torque @ 4600 rpm. Yet the LS3 6.2L engine achieves a remarkable EPA estimated MPG 16 city, 26 highway with the standard six-speed manual transmission. Even with its impressive performance, the engine does not incur a federal government gas-guzzler penalty. Magnetic Selective Ride Control
This system adjusts shock-absorber damping in real time by means of electromagnetically charged particles contained within the shock fluid. When exposed to a magnetic charge, the fluid properties change, forming a near-solid state. With wheel position sensors at each wheel, the system literally reads and responds to every inch of the road, immediately adjusts the damper force on each wheel and responds to changing road and driving conditions.
Unlike traditional mechanical shock valves, there is practically no limit to the range of soft-to-firm damping capability. And it responds five times faster than previous Real Time Damping (RTD) systems.
There are two cockpit settings, "Tour" and "Sport," managed by a single switch located on the center console. The "Tour" setting provides more ride comfort and compliance for everyday driving conditions, while the "Sport" setting provides a firmer ride for performance driving and more communication of road feel.
Larger brakes with cross-drilled brake rotors are included on cars equipped with available Magnetic Selective Ride Control. Dual-Mode Exhaust
Coupes and convertibles now have an available dual-mode exhaust that reduces restriction and raises power output from the standard 430 hp to 436 hp (torque increases from 424 lb.-ft. to 428 lb.-ft.). It also provides a more aggressive exhaust note at higher throttle applications. Removable Roof Panel
Open-air driving is just seconds away for coupe drivers, thanks to a removable roof panel. Here's how it works:
Lower the windows.
Pull the two latch releases on the front side out and away.
Release the handle on the rear, and the top is easily removed and stowed in the rear cargo area.
Even with the top stowed, coupe still provides generous cargo room. Body-color is standard on coupe. A transparent panel and a dual Roof Package are also available. Six-Speed Paddle Shift with Automatic Modes
A Six-Speed Paddle Shift with Automatic Modes — available on coupe and convertible — offers total driver involvement with an automatic transmission. In the "S" mode, steering wheel controls allow you to upshift or downshift whenever you want for maximum performance — without ever taking your hands off the wheel. Both the "S" or "D" modes allow normal automatic operation without using the paddles. The "S" mode offers a more sporting shift pattern with firmer shift calibrations. NEW for 2008: Paddle Shift response time is even quicker. In addition, a 2.73 performance axle option is now available for Paddle Shift-equipped cars. Head-Up Display (HUD) With G-Meter
The available Head Up Display (HUD) projects selected key vehicle information — even directions from an available navigation system — onto the windshield, allowing the driver to focus on the driving. Standard in Z06 and available in coupe and convertible.
There are three settings for HUD — street, track 1, and track 2 — selectable by the mode button. In total, there are 10 different display combinations the driver can select, including vehicle speed, engine rpm, a performance upshift guide for the six-speed manual transmission, and readings from key gauges, such as temperature and oil pressure.
A real-time g-meter also displays lateral acceleration in track mode. A gear readout for vehicles equipped with the available Six-Speed Paddle Shift with Automatic Modes appears only when the gear selector is in the "S" mode and the Paddle Shift is in operation. Original Design Five-Spoke Chrome Aluminum Wheel
These five-spoke wheels are available on coupe and convertible and feature a glossier, chrome look than the available Polished Aluminum wheels. They're available in standard Corvette sizes — 18" x 8.5" (front) and 19" x 10" (rear).
The chrome aluminum wheels are designed to fit the Corvette high performance Goodyear Eagle F1 Extended Mobility Tires (EMT) in sizes 245/40ZR-18 (front) and 285/35ZR-19 (rear). EMT tires are designed to operate at 0 psi for up to 100 miles at 55 mph should a flat occur.
For those who seek a higher level of performance, the available Z51 Performance Package features a unique tire — the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar EMT, which comes in the same sizes as the Goodyear Eagle F1. Cargo Convenience Net
A cargo convenience net helps secure smaller cargo items near the rear compartment area. It's standard on convertible and available as part of the 2LT, 3LT and 4LT Preferred Equipment Groups (PEGs) for coupe and the 2LZ and 3LZ PEGs for Z06. Side-impact air bags(1) for the driver and front passenger are standard on convertible and available on coupe and Z06. Side-impact air bags are designed to help reduce the risk of head injuries to occupants on the near side of certain side-impact collisions. It's standard on convertible and available as part of the 2LT, 3LT and 4LT Preferred Equipment Groups (PEGs) for coupe and the 2LZ and 3LZ PEGs for Z06.

This transferable warranty features a zero dollar deductible and can be transferred to another owner at no charge.

Hybrid Warranty
SILVERADO HYBRID WARRANTY INFORMATION For vehicles sold in the United States, in addition to the Bumper-to-Bumper Coverage and all other warranties that apply, General Motors will warrant certain Hybrid components for each Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid for:
