Here is a running and driving 1970, first year of the second generation Chevrolet Camaro. I bought this car back in 1992 and it had some rust through in the dash area at the corner of the windshield on one side. A common problem on these even on a California car. In order to properly deal with that and to weld in some new metal the front fenders had to come off for access. I did that repair but have never gotten around to fininsing the car. What I do know about it is that it has a 1973 307cid 5.0litre 2bbl carburetor motor teamed up to a TurboHyramatic 350 automatic transmission. It has four season air conditioner, deluxe trim group, power steering, and I swapped out the steering column for a comfortilt unit, and from the same doner car I got the power brake setup. I also found this neat set of Rallye II styled road wheels from the period and they are not bad. It has four very good tires, they are unused. Underneath there is dual exhaust with a FlowMaster crossflow muffler. I've had it sitting around all this time I wish that I had the capitol to make this one into a jewel. It could easily become a $20,000.00 car, more if you put the right motor in it. 1970 is the right year generation 2 Camaro and the only gen 2 to have the low back, seperate headrest front seats. Stratoback buckets I believe they were called. I have the front fenders, there is a little rust in the portion that sits behind the tire where rust shoes up when rust shows up. They are ok otherwise. The hood is fine I have that too. I also have the drivers door I am going to put that back on the car. The dash goes with the car as well but the pad needs to be redone or replaced. I have the windshield. It needs a bunch of attention but with the right kind of TLC this hot little bowtie wearing cutie can be anything from a driver to a show car. Some people say this body style was the next best thig to a Corvette as it has that look in the rear end. I can't say I will be happy to see this one go it is one of my favorite body styles of all time. A great driving and comfortable car as well. But I have way too many cars that have accumulated in my stable and so I am going to have to thin out the herd as they say under pressure from those that care, and recent financial developments that have come up. I do have to list this one with a reserve as I would not be interested in blowing it out just to get it gone. That desperate I'm not. The winner of the auction will have to pay for the car in full within 7 days of the auction close time. A 25% non refundable deposit is due within 72hrs. The vehicle must be picked up here within 10 days of the auction close. If the vehicle is picked up after the 10 days a $50.00 per day storage fee will be charged. The Camaro is for sale locally and if so moved I reserver the right to sell this Chevy to anyone I want and eend the auction early. ALTHOUGH IT DOES RUN THIS VEHICLE OBVIOUSLY CAN NOT BE DRIVEN LEGALLY AS IT IS AND MUST BE TRANSPORTED AND PROVISION MADE TO PICK UP THE PARTS THAT ARE SEPERATE FROM THE CAR. I also have many EXTRA parts for this car, doors, deck lid, glass, seats (highback), mechanical parts etc., but they are not included in the auction. If interested we can talk about some of that. Any questions will be hapilly received and responded to. Please let me know and thanks so much for looking at my 1970 Chevrolet Camaro. Happy Ebaying. PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE RIGHT FENDER I WILL CHANGE THE 5/8" HEATER HOSE FROM THE CORE TO THE VALVE WHICH IS HARD TO GET AT AFTER, ALONG WITH THE LIQUID REFRIGERANT HOSE FROM THE DRYER TO EVAPORATOR. I WILL CHARGE IT WITH OEM R12 FREON AND CHECK FOR LEAKS. Here is a running and driving 1970, first year of the second generation Chevrolet Camaro. Some rust in back side of lower fenders but as you can see it's just some minor stuff, the cowl, around the glass front & rear is nice and the floor pans are real solid.
