I am second owner with paperwork back to original delivery. Current owner since 1984. Always adult owned. Ultra clean 2002. 5 speed. Engine runs perfectly with recent total head rebuild. This car was rotisserie restored in 1997-1998. 100% guaranteed no rust anywhere. Won trophies after that. So-cal all its life. Mileage is 396,000 but could be 496,000. Mileage in last 5 years very low. One set of receipts in early 1980's is unclear on the odometer rollover, other wise fully documented. All rubber, all suspension, brakes, bushings, undercarriage replaced in restoration. Bottom was steam cleaned. Engine fully rebuilt with excellent balanced compression still maintained. 3 Series 5 speed installed. new drive shaft and guibo. New BMW exhaust. Ireland eng big brake kit. Ice cold air. Koni shocks. All smog gear is included though not on car at this time.
Factory sunroof with rare factory wind deflector. Sunrroof works well and has new gasket. 2 carbs included, smog legal 32/36 weber and 38/38 weber on car now- really wakes up throttle response. Tinted glass. Rear glass defogger works perfectly with no broken spots in wires. All new rubber and exterior moldings. New rubber around front and rear glass.14" BBS BMW wheels. Michelin tires-195-60/r14 with about half life left. Nardi polished wood Steering wheel. Early 80's Blaupunkt BMW radio /cassette w/ 4 speakers and anti theft code- sounds terrific. Absolutely stunning 100% perfect paint. Multi stage clear coat. Body is perfectly straight with no ripples, waves or similar. Bumpers tucked in and pinned, polished and clear coated with ceramic industrial coating. Nothing sticks and hard coat protects polish on bumpers. Bumper rubber in excellent condition. Problems? headliner is original and should be replaced for concours. Tii clock has stopped working- common issue and easily fixed by North hollywood speedo. Passenger seat is also original and also should be redone though it is serviceable. Carpet was replaced in 1997 but could be done again for concours, though it is also serviceable. So, this is not a 100 point car, but it is a phenomenal driver, and with slight attention to details will win shows. The stuff it needs is easy, and you will not find a better starting/finishing point or a more solid car. No rattles( I hate those), no strange noises, no filler, no panel replacement, no repair welding, drives clean and easy. I was going to keep this one until I cannot drive anymore, it is the perfect car in a sports sedan, but things have changed for me. Do not let this one slip by- there is NO way you can reproduce this car at this price , no matter what you start with on a restoration.
